Giancarlo Attolini

Giancarlo Attolini is a chartered accountant and statutory auditor in Italy. He is widely recognized for his expertise in governance, regulation, and accounting standard-setting, both in Italy and internationally. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions within national and international professional bodies, notably with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and standard-setting organizations, actively contributing to the evolution of professional standards.
A graduate in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Modena, he has been working in international and multicultural environments for nearly 30 years. His cross-disciplinary expertise covers all key strategic issues of the profession, including taxation, audit, financial and non-financial reporting, sustainability, and corporate governance.
Appointed President-Elect of Accountancy Europe for 2025–2026, he will assume the presidency of the organization for the 2027–2028 term. He is thus the first Italian to lead this association representing the accounting profession before European institutions.
